A Day of Honor

WOW what a day!  We had a very rough morning the pain after surgery was unbearable.  My husband was great stayed calm and helped in what ever way he could to get the his pain controlled.  A few hours later he was resting comfortably.  Then they had to get him cleaned up because he was having company.  WHAT AN HONOR.  THE PRESIDENT!  Can you believe it, the President of the United States of America visited my son.  The Secret Service is just as tough and powerful as they looks on T.V.  But when Obama walked in to Tim's room wearing a protective gown and gloves he acted like one of the docs.  Came in said Good morning.  We did the rounds of hand shakes then he spook to Tim about the Marines and the service they give, how proud he is of all these men, told him he looks good, they talked about Tim's desire of Crossfit, thanked him for his service then started to say his goodbyes.  He shook hands again with all and gave me a hug.  This was the first time obama has been to National Navel Medical Center and Tim was the first visitor to be seen.  After the visit we all had lunch then Rick and I had to take care of paper work for our on and off base privileges and entrances to the places on base outside of the hospital.  We gave Tim and Kate some time alone.  He trys so hard to stay awake when we are in the room, the doctor told us the more he can sleep the faster his recovery.  She has been great through this whole thing, I have been staying on top of her so she eats and sleeps.   When you look at the picture you can see she has had more sleep then me, so don't laugh.

  5. My baby boy, This week has been so hard for you and I know the Doctors here have been blessed with the ability and knowledge to take care of all your needs. How exciting, not many people can say they have meet the President. That honor comes from a higher power, just think you can sit around the camp fire and tell your grandkids that while you served your country you spent time with the Prez. Remember we love you and are all here to support you.

  10. Hey Tim,
Kristina Garcia here, just wanted to get on here and tell you, LUCKY! you got to meet El Presidente! You're a tough cookie! I told Kate yesterday, it's a good thing I didn't call you the "boot" that one night lol.
Well bud, get better soon, there's so many people out here pulling for you. My family wanted me to thank you for serving our country. I know how you military personal are, thinking "don't thank me it's my job" but it is truley an honor to know you. We have so many relatives in the military in all branches and we know what you all do is self-less and couragous.
I recently spoke with my cousin, Cpl. Jason Alameda, 2nd aa BN Delta Company, stationed at Camp Lejeune. He told me to tell you stay strong and that only a Marine would be able to survive and still come out ontop. He said he will carry on your honor when he is shipped out for Afghanistan this coming Saturday June 6th. Ooorah, Semper Fi.
I know you're family and friends are staying strong like they need to, they're pretty dam tough too!
To the Waldron Family (and Kate), you will get through this all just fine. My family has been through it twice, once we lost a cousin in Baghdad in 2003, and then another cousin was injured in Baghdad in 2005. You are all in our hearts.
God has granted you all a gift of strength and that strength will override all the fatigue and emotions that may hit you.
Tim, you are a great man! I can't wait to see you when you get back to California.
Be good and don't give those nurses hell! lol!
